The Universe in 3D

The Swinburne Centre for Astrophysics & Supercomputing is delighted to announce the Australian release of our first IMAX movie endeavour!  Hidden Universe 3D is a December Cinema Productions film, produced in association with Swinburne University of Technology, the European Southern Observatory, Film Victoria and MacGillivray Freeman Films.

The documentary uses real images taken by some of the world’s largest telescopes and orbiting satellites which are converted in IMAX-quality 3D images with the help of the Swinburne supercomputer.  “Discover spectacular galaxies, witness the birth place of stars, and explore the Martian landscape – the secrets of the universe await!”

Hidden Universe is now screening in the USA, Europe, Canada and Australia.
